The upper ranks of corporate security are seeing a high rate of change as companies try to adapt to the evolving threat landscape. Many companies are hiring a chief security officer (CSO) or chief information security officer (CISO) for the first time to support a deeper commitment to information security. New CISO appointments in September 2026 Mistral AI hires Thomas Coudray as CISO Thomas Coudray, previously CISO at crypto-wallet vendor Ledger, is Mistral AI’s new CISO. Prior to Ledger he worked at P1 Security, which protects telecommunications networks, as director of cyber security operations and later as CTO, and before that as a research engineer for the French National Cybersecurity Agency, ANSSI. Illumia names Sean Bruton CISO Sean Bruton has joined payment services provider Illumia as CISO, where he will lead security and compliance programs. He has a long history of working across the two areas: In 2016 he founded security posture assessment service Complyify, leading that company for seven years until its acquisition by Zyston, where he went on to become CTO. Axonius picks Chris Jones for top security role Asset intelligence platform Axonius has named Chris Jones its chief trust and security officer. He will be responsible for protecting the company’s infrastructure, data, and customer trust. He was previously a deputy CISO at Cisco. Grant Yacomeni joins Gigamon as CISO Gigamon has appointed Grant Yacomeni as its new CISO. Prior to joining the network observability specialist, he worked in a number of cybersecurity roles at the US Department of Defense. Tabcorp’s new CISO is Maxine Harrison Online sports betting company Tabcorp has hired Maxine Harrison as CISO. She was previously CISO at the Department of Energy, Environment, and Climate Action of the State Government of Victoria, Australia. He previously held leadership positions at Salesforce and most recently served as CISO for EagleView. Sandro Bucchianeri joins ANZ as CISO Australia and New Zealand Banking Group has named Sandro Bucchianeri its new CISO. He previously held senior cybersecurity roles at Absa Group and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, among others. Glow names Patti Degnan as security chief Glow appointed Patti Degnan, former operating partner at Andreessen Horowitz and CISO of Notion, as its CISO. Degnan brings nearly two decades of experience in cybersecurity and privacy. She previously founded the security organization at Notion, scaling it as the company grew past 100 million users. Trellix names David Soto as CISO Trellix appointed David Soto as chief information security officer with more than 25 years of cybersecurity leadership across regulated industries. Most recently, he served as head of infrastructure security at Amazon, where he scaled a resilient security program across more than 4,000 sites and 30 countries. UltraViolet Cyber taps Andrew Park for security UltraViolet Cyber named Andrew Park as CISO. Park brings experience from both sides of the security relationship, first as a customer and now as the executive responsible for delivering security services. He spent four years at Amazon Web Services as a cloud infrastructure architect, solutions architect, and cloud security consultant. Marriott appoints Daniel Dubowski as security officer Marriott International appointed Daniel Dubowski as SVP and CISO. Dubowski brings deep experience leading cybersecurity and risk programs across hospitality, travel, financial services, and healthcare. He most recently served in the same role at Hertz. California taps Mike Marshall as state CISO California appointed Mike Marshall as chief information security officer with 18 years of public-sector cybersecurity experience, beginning in 2008 at the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. Most recently, he served as acting information officer at the California Environmental Protection Agency since 2022, after serving as the agency’s information security officer for five years. Allied Universal names Jordan Avnaim global CISO Allied Universal appointed Jordan Avnaim as global chief information security officer. With more than 20 years of experience, Avnaim will lead development and implementation of a comprehensive, risk-based cybersecurity program.
